How passionate are you??
Posted: 06 Jan 2008 02:19 AM CST
Hello everyone... Got a question for you: how passionate are you about the things you do in your life? How much do you enjoy, and I really mean enjoy, the things that occupy many hours of your life, for example,... - This was a question posted on one of the blogs I read - "Aspirations Plus Blog"**Don't forget if you click on this it will take you to this blog, so come back and see me huh?!"
So - it got me thinking about the question - I mean after all how passionate am I really, what does occupy and take up the many hours of my life? What keeps me busy every day, what do I love about life, to want to keep pushing on? After all I am only young still, I have many years ahead of me to keep me busy and happy. I mean this kind of question gets me to thinking about "The Meaning Of..... (or is that like "The Life of Brian"?) Are you religious, does it get you thinking about the world from an existential point of view, that you think of it from the view - "we come, we see, we do, we create and then we are gone and there is nothing after all that hard work"? **Don't forget people these links will take you away from my blog, still haven't figured it!**
Me, I am a firm believer in there is a something else, but having been raised in a fairly (that's an understatement!) strict religious household, I find it hard just accepting that side of the belief tree!! I can't believe that we come, we live, we die and that is it I would have to wonder about the futility of life if that was all we did!! After all, there are so many people out in the world who REALLY STRUGGLE thru' life, they do it so hard and if the futility of life amounted to nothing it would be the cruelest thing. And then there are people who go thru life in constant pain, suffering every day and if they got to the end having put up with the constant pain to leave this life, and never get a chance to do it again in a better state?! So, I believe there is a higher power, that we do each time around as a learning exercise, and each time around we do it with more knowledge, and life gets easier!!!
What is your take on it?
So, having said all that, what am I passionate about? I am passionate about my new business - being a virtual administrative assistant. I am passionate about technology and its constant advances and learning about them all!
I am passionate about chocolate!!! I luv the brown stuff! Especially Lindt chocolates, and Club Dark Chocolate mmmmmmmm.......
I am passionate about the ocean and the changing faces of it with the changes in weather - I have seen it from below at depths of 30mtrs plus, as well as from above. I have had a shark swim with me, and alternately I have had just a scallop dance around me! It is a beautiful world!
I love to read too, although I don't get the opportunity as much as I would like - too busy getting my business up and running - but I am loving the book you can see just here - "eat, pray, love" - by Elizabeth Gilbert. As I read about what she chose to do puts me more in touch with where I am at in my life!! I will do what she did!! MY DREAM
I am passionate about being a Mum to a teenager and surviving it! I am passionate about travel - I LOVE IT! I am passionate about this- my blog!
What about you? Tell me what you find passionate about your life! Would love to hear about your passions.

Generation Y, New Years Resolutions and where do I fit?!
Generation Y are coming from a different place than we did at this age. (We wish we could have the life they have but keep the knowledge of what we know now!) - Sound like a familiar catch-cry in your house?
So I thought I would find out if there were many blogs devoted to Generation Y and sure enough there was - a blog called "Generation Y" blog - go figure a whole blog devoted to showing us Baby Boomers just how they are "poised to make a huge impact on society in the future" according to this blog!
Of course, in making my New Years Resolutions this year, one of them was to find out how to survive this Generation Y teenager living under this humble roof and come out the other end not being carried away wearing a little white jacket with padlocks, (and to ensure I spend Generation Y's inheritance), after all if the blog is to be believed:
"FINANCIAL PLANNING: Gen-Y beats parents on work-savvy, drive"
However, I could also have some good news for those of us who have been raised to believe we are of the "Baby Boomers" Generation, classified in Wikipedia as "an American-English term to describe a person born between 1946 and 1964." So me thinks am I really a "Baby Boomer"?
If I listen to a lot of the people I know, who are slightly older, they are always amazed at the amount of current technology in my life, at my age. (never quite sure what they mean by that!)
So off I go, looking for a little more information on Baby Boomers, and are there any blogs out there written that classify this mother who isn't quite sure where she fits in the "big picture"?
I found one that reflects I am actually younger than my birth certificate says! So if there are any parents out there who really want to know where you fit go to this blog by "The Brazen Careerist"!
According to the test it has, I AM CLASSIFIED AS GENERATION-Y!!! So watch out Generation Y there are some of us out here who might be old in age, according to encyclopedias, and according to our bodies, but guess what our brains and our daily lives show we fit into your Generation too (just we have years of experience on you!) (By the way - my test result was 16!) and take the test - you could be pleasantly surprised (just as I was!)

My Wine Style – yummmmmm!
Kick-off some conversation. Fire-up your senses. Your personality matches the most sophisticated and idolised wine-style: Cabernet Sauvignon. Your Strong Points: Careful you don't:
Connoisseurs love your subtly and complexity. But most of all they love your originality. You have a capacity for structure, depth and clarity that allows fresh and unique characteristics to burst forth.

What my business is all about and what I do!
What is a Virtual Assistant (VA)?
VAnetworking.com: "A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a business owner who works from their own office providing professional support, services and skills to their clients via phone, fax and internet based technology.
Partnering with a VA reduces stress, protects cash flow, eliminates administrative hassles, and enables business people to find the success they originally set out to achieve.
A VA is your right hand person helping you to succeed in your business. The irony is you may never meet your VA as odds are they live nowhere near you!"

Christmas and 2008 around the corner!
I can't believe how fast this year has gone, and that here we are around the corner from 2008. There I am today wandering around our local Westfield Shopping Centre - Marion, - (believed to be the largest shopping complex in Adelaide according to Wikipedia) watching, looking at all the Christmas decorations, the children sitting on Santa's knee, the older kids hoping for the latest technology in their life, and just amazed at how fast this year has flown!!
I can't believe that this time last year we were planning our trip to Bali. We were planning to stay at The Bounty Hotel and at The Kumala Pantai - the best fun I have ever had with my dearest friend, from Perth. And here we are a year on, planning to put up the Christmas Decorations and do the Christmas thing!! So is it just me, or is it the same for everyone? Does it seem that as we get older that life flows faster? Why is that? What changes about the world - is it the axis changing - is it the clock moving faster, or is it just plain us not wanting to admit we are in fact just running so we can keep up with the Jones', to meet society and its expectations of us?
Anyone wanting to comment please do so? I will be back to finish this deep and meaningful - just gotta go fall into bed! Night everyone.
